First recognized in September of 1989, National Hispanic Heritage Month highlights and celebrates the many contributions, history, and diverse cultures of the American Latino community. During the month of September, many Latin American countries also celebrate their independence. These include Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Chile. |

“L’Shanah Tovah!” (A sweet new year!) This year, Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown on Sunday, September 25, and ends the evening of Tuesday, September 27. It is observed as the Jewish New Year and one of Judaism’s holiest days. |
National Recovery Month
Each September, the nation recognizes and celebrates National Recovery Month to promote and support new evidence-based treatment and recovery practices for substance use disorder.
