Q4 Diversity & Inclusion Education Series | Empathy

Q4 Diversity & Inclusion Education Series | Empathy

“Empathy is the starting point for creating a community and taking action. It’s the impetus for creating change. ” — Max Carver

The Bay Club Education Series was created to provide resources and tools on important topics related to Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging, as well as provide a space to have conversations about them.

We are closing out Q4 2022 and revisiting the topic of “Empathy.” Empathy is generally described as a skill or the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. Each of us is unique and comes from different backgrounds. We have our own values, cultural understandings, and perspectives. Practicing empathy allows us to have compassion for others and relate to friends, family, co-workers, and members.

However, empathizing can be difficult at times.  Practicing this skill helps you respond appropriately and enhances relationships that can overcome emotionally trying situations. In the workplace, it allows us to foster safe spaces and promote a more cooperative and productive environment.

See below for additional details on the Empathy Education Series and how you can participate!

  • Education Series Resources + Empathy Quiz – Participation in the Education Series is mandatory for all Full-Time Associates; however, all Associates who review the educational resources and complete the quiz will be entered to win a $100 Amazon Gift Card!
