“Allies lead with empathy and build relationships based on trust, consistency, and accountability.” —Jodi-Ann Burey
The Bay Club Education Series was created to provide resources and tools on important topics related to Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging, as well as provide a space to have conversations about them.
We are focusing on “Allyship” this quarter. Allyship is a verb. It is how people use their Individual privileges and power for the purpose of equity and inclusion for all. Allyship is the continuous process of first seeking to learn about the experiences of a marginalized group of people, empathizing with their challenges, and building relationships to take action and support them.
A training course on Allyship has been made available to all associates via Emtrain, our Learning Management System and we are excited to provide you with an opportunity to learn more about how we can all work together to foster positive relationships within our clubs and communities. See below for additional details on the Allyship Education Series and click the link to participate!
- Allyship Training – We’re committed to creating opportunities for associates to focus on personal growth and ensuring participation in the Education Series is a meaningful experience. Participation in the Education Series is entirely voluntary; however, any associate who completes the training course and shares their thoughts in a short post-survey could earn a $100 Gas Gift Card! Participants must complete the course by July 20, 2022, to be entered into the drawing!
- Note: If logging into Emtrain for the first time, use your Employee ID as your username, and Emtrain123 as the default password. You will then be prompted to create a new password.
- Check out your assignments and start learning! Assignments can be found by clicking “To Do List” in the upper left-hand corner
- Hourly Associates are paid for their participation and should be mindful that this time does not result in overtime. To be paid for the 30-minute course, associates will be required to email their supervisor when they have completed the training.
- This course is offered in multiple languages. Once you log in and click on the training course, click the person icon next to your name in the upper right-hand corner of your screen. Then click “Language” to access additional languages.
- Q2 Coffee Chats– All associates are invited to join us from July 20, 2022 – July 22, 20222, as Task Force members will be hosting “Coffee Chats” to discuss the importance of allyship, share experiences, and identify ways to practice meaningful allyship. We would love for all our associates to use their voices, be part of the discussion, and join us on the journey of learning and growing together.
